In one year, the state parliament will be elected in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. A new survey shows that the AfD would clearly become the strongest force.
In a survey, the SPD of Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig only comes to half of the votes of the state parliament election of 2021. Not even a tripartite coalition apart from the AfD would be possible any more.
If there were elections on Sunday, according to a poll in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, 38 percent of voters would vote for the AfD, while the SPD of Prime Minister Schwesig would lose a lot.
The SPD is threatening an election debacle in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern next year. Despite the popularity of Prime Minister Schwesig, the party sees a fresh poll with just over half of the votes. The big winner of the survey is the AfD - it is heading towards the 40 percent mark.
According to the new survey, AfD overtakes SPD in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. SPD falls to 19 percent, AfD reaches 38 percent.
