Adani, Embraer sign pact to make aircraft in India

  • On Tuesday, Adani Group and Embraer signed a memorandum of understanding to explore a regional aircraft manufacturing facility in India, the companies said at a civil aviation ministry event.
  • Amid bilateral outreach following last year's Brazil visit, Rajesh Kumar Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Defence, and S.K. Sinha, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, said indigenisation and joining global supply chains drive the pact.
  • The companies said the agreement covers aircraft manufacturing, supply chains, aftermarket services and pilot training, and includes plans for a Final Assembly Line for regional transport aircraft, with financial and timing details undisclosed.
  • Pairing Adani's industrial footprint with Embraer positions India to expand local production, advancing aircraft parts manufacturing and supporting a resilient defence industrial base, officials said.
  • Embraer, the world's third-largest planemaker, has signalled a push to deepen its India presence, said Arjan Meijer, `India is a pivotal market for Embraer, and this partnership combines our aerospace expertise with Adani's strong industrial capabilities and commitment to indigenisation`.
