Disney Reveals ‘X-Men’ Cast, Slate of Sequels
Marvel confirmed Adam Driver as Mister Sinister and Inde Navarette as Rogue, with more mutant roles announced for the reboot.
- On Friday, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced the X-Men reboot cast at D23 in Anaheim, featuring Sadie Sink, Kit Connor, Samara Weaving, Inde Navarrette, Christopher Abbott, Maya Boyd, and Adam Driver. The film is scheduled for May 5, 2028.
- Marvel's new ensemble establishes a distinct, younger identity separating the franchise from two decades of Fox continuity. The reboot became possible following Disney's 2019 acquisition of Fox's film studio.
- Director Jake Schreier leads the project, with Adam Driver portraying the villain Mr. Sinister. Driver told the crowd of 12,000 via video that he and Feige had discussed joining the MCU for years before finding "something perfect with characters I feel very deeply about."
- During the showcase, Marvel previewed VisionQuest, the Disney+ series premiering October 14 with Paul Bettany returning as Vision and James Spader as Ultron. The show concludes the trilogy begun by WandaVision in 2021.
- The X-Men reboot represents the first film in a new MCU timeline following Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027. Feige cautioned that the roster revealed Friday is not the complete lineup, with additional character announcements expected.
