The Netherlands Authority for Consumers & Markets has revoked the energy company's license.
The Netherlands Authority for Consumers & Markets (ACM) is revoking the permits of energy supplier Hollandse Energie Maatschappij (HEM) with immediate effect. The regulator conducted an investigation at HEM last week and found that the energy company is struggling with "acute and serious financial problems" and is, according to the ACM, no longer able to supply energy "reliably".
Regulator revokes energy supplier HEM's permit over money problems
The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) has revoked the operating permits of energy supplier HollandsStroom, which previously traded under the name Hollandse Energie Maatschappij, or HEM. According to the regulator, the company is unable to supply energy reliably, has not properly arranged the purchase of gas for December, and does not have sufficient financial resources to pay outstanding invoices.
The approximately 13,500 customers of energy supplier HEM will be taken over by Clean Energy. This was reported by HEM in response to the withdrawal of the permits by the Netherlands Authority for Consumers & Markets (ACM). According to HEM, customers will receive a message from Clean Energy about the takeover.
Consumer watchdog ACM has revoked the permit of energy supplier HEM (Hollandse Energie Maatschappij) with immediate effect. The 13,500 customers will continue to receive gas and electricity.
