Accused Murderer Accidentally Released From Bay Area Jail

Isaiah Jamon Andrews was mistakenly released from a California jail despite a homicide warrant; authorities launched a search and U.S. Marshals are now involved.

  • On Oct. 22, Isaiah Jamon Andrews, suspect, was mistakenly released from the Martinez Detention Facility, Martinez, California, and is currently believed to be on the run, the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office said.
  • Following the shooting, Seattle Police Department found a victim in the 2100 block of North Northgate Way on Oct. 15, and a suspect was arrested after a pursuit on Oct. 18.
  • At the time of release Andrews had a murder warrant out of Seattle, local charges , and a juvenile warrant out of Sacramento, CCCSO said.
  • After staff realized Andrews had been released, Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office staff launched a search of the immediate area and confirmed he was not there, and the U.S. Marshals Service now leads the search.
  • Andrews had been slated to be extradited back to Washington state and booked into a King County jail, while the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office is investigating his release and has notified local law enforcement agencies.
