The Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will launch an internal investigation into the foreigners granted Hungarian citizenship in recent years, announced Friday on Facebook Laszlo Gyorgy Velkey, parliamentary secretary of state in the ministry, broadcasts MTI.

They are now also investigating how some people were able to obtain citizenship with the help of the Foreign Ministry without any Hungarian ties.
György László Velkey also announced that he had countersigned the revocation of diplomatic passports that had been abused for years.
According to the Secretary of State, numerous abuses have been discovered at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He also said that the diplomatic passport is used to perform state duties, not as a gift.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to tighten the requirements for applying for diplomatic passports - The investigations are not over yet, hundreds of people close to NER are involved in the case.
