We contacted the clinic after there were conflicting statements about the street closure.
In Ferencváros, the pub scene dictates; Mayor Krisztina Baranyi closed a section of Tűzoltó Street overnight so that Róbert Puzsér's pub could have a terrace without consulting the locals, doctors, or paramedics - the head of the Fidesz faction of the Metropolitan Assembly announced on her Facebook page on Friday.
The closure of Tűzoltó Street is illegal and dangerous, the Budapest Metropolitan Government Office warned in a statement. As they wrote, the current design prevents fire engines from approaching the Tűzoltó Street department of the Semmelweis University Pediatric Clinic, and in the event of a fire, it could hinder firefighting and life-saving efforts, and therefore does not comply with fire protection and safety regulations.
