ABC denies 'inaccurate' report 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' will end in 2027
ABC says reports that Jimmy Kimmel Live! will end in 2027 are inaccurate, as the show begins its new season with 4,000 episodes aired.
- ABC Entertainment issued an official denial rejecting a Page Six report claiming Jimmy Kimmel Live! will end its 24-year run when host Jimmy Kimmel's contract expires in May 2027.
- A network spokesperson dismissed the cancellation claims as "inaccurate" and characterized any commentary regarding the show's future beyond its current contract as "purely speculative".
- The initial rumor alleged that ABC executives opted not to extend Kimmel's contract beyond May 2027 while staff allegedly discussed Kimmel pitching external podcasts and projects.
- Kimmel, who operates on short-term agreements and signed his latest one-year contract extension in late 2025, recently returned to host the show's 24th season following his customary summer hiatus.
- The network's rejection of the rumor comes as the late-night landscape undergoes major shifts, following the high-profile sign-off of Stephen Colbert's The Late Show earlier in the year.
