A year ago, the car factory VDL Nedcar was closed and 4,000 people had to look for a new job. Most of the former employees now have a new job, reports the regional broadcaster L1. The layoffs appear to have had a positive effect on the Limburg economy, says the UWV. Of the 3,000 Dutch employees who were laid off, 1,370 immediately moved on to a new job.
