A sweet memory of the past discovered under the floors of Powys Castle

Mae papur losin, a piece of newspaper from 1953, and a man's chrib have been found under the floors at Powys Castle near Welshpool. The 13th-century castle is in the care of the National Trust for Wales and the discoveries were made recently when a specialist team of contractors, electricians and conservationists surveyed the castle as part of the project to rewire the building, which starts in the summer.
