According to the 77-year-old retiree, who recently lived in Orange County, California, it's cheaper than owning a traditional home, and she'll get to see some of the world.
When Sharon Lane stepped aboard the Villa Vie Odyssey cruise ship in mid-June, she felt joy and relief. It was a moment that was the fulfillment of a dream she had been waiting for. "I can finally do what I've wanted to do for years," she tells CNN Travel. She plans to spend the next 15 years on the ship.
