A new species of venomous siphonophore (similar to a jellyfish), Physalia mikazuki, was discovered in Japan. Found by a student in Sendai Bay, an area normally too cold, its presence is a sign of global warming. The warm currents (Kuroshio) grow these poisonous creatures further north.
