A man has been jailed and given a 15-year restraining order after attacking a woman in an alleyway in Hersham.
26 year old Sam Miller assaulted the woman from behind as she walked between Trenchard Close and Queens Road in June 2024. She was grabbed around the head and neck and pulled to the ground, but managed to fight him off. Miller fled and was later identified through CCTV and forensic evidence. He pleaded guilty to assault and was sentenced to 23 months, but released due to time already served in custody.
