Major Martyred, Four Terrorists Killed in Balochistan Operations: ISPR
Security forces recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition as sanitisation operations continued after the clashes, the military said.
On Monday, the Inter-Services Public Relations announced that Pakistan Army Major Wajahat Waheed was martyred in an improvised explosive device blast in District Gwadar, while security forces killed four terrorists in District Kalat.
Security Forces launched clearance operations following intelligence reports of Indian-sponsored Fitna Al Hindustan hideouts in Shadi Kaur and Jattakabad, aiming to safeguard the local population from militant threats.
During the Jattakabad IBO on Sunday, troops engaged militants and, "after an intense exchange of fire, four terrorists were sent to hell," the ISPR stated, while recovering a large cache of arms and ammunition.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the 34-year-old officer, reiterating the government's resolve to continue the Azm-e-Istehkam campaign approved by the Federal Apex Committee against foreign-sponsored terrorism.
Despite multiple rounds of talks, Islamabad continues to urge Kabul to prevent Afghan territory from being used by militant organizations, as the presence of militant groups remains a major point of contention between the two nations.
