A former Hungarian politician from Ukraine, who is now a lawyer, has made a dramatic escape from Ukraine. The lawyer drove his car at high speed past a border checkpoint, crashed into a gate and illegally left Ukraine, Ukrainian authorities said. A man drove his car through the Ukrainian-Hungarian border barrier at the Nagypalád-Nagyhódos border crossing. The incident occurred on Thursday evening, when the Transcarpathian lawyer was fleeing mobilization. The Hungarian authorities were also notified of the incident.
Authorities later identified the driver: Eduard Volodimirovics Pukanics, born in 1987, a resident of the village of Nagybakta in the Beregszás district.
