A burn ban is now in effect for Northumberland County
Due to dry vegetation and poor air quality, all outdoor burning, even with a permit, is banned until further notice. The Northumberland County Fire Chiefs have determined a fire ban is necessary to ensure the publics continued safety. The fire ban restricts all open-air fires including campfires, burn barrels, chimeneas, brush piles and yard waste. The use of cooking devices that use propane or wood pellets are permitted.
