A striking ruling in Brussels: a 51-year-old man, who identifies as a transgender woman, is allowed to continue participating in women's cycling races. The athlete in question was previously excluded due to stricter rules from the international cycling federation UCI. The judge found those rules to be excessive, state broadcaster VRT reports.

The Belgian Institute for Equality between Women and Men says the order is "directly enforceable" and sets a precedent in the country.
