As reported by Spain’s El Correro, a 25-year-old participant of British origin suffered a suspected cardiac arrest and respiratory failure during the swim portion of Ironman 70.3 Vitoria-Gasteiz. At around 8:00am, the man was brought to shore by emergency services who attempted to resuscitate him. It is reported that other participants rushed to his aid.
