One of the biggest exercises in Europe, to test the response of the authorities in the case of an earthquake, began this morning in Bucharest. The scenario provides a 7-degree earthquake on Richter, which eventually leaves nearly one thousand deaths and two thousand injuries. The exercise involves over two thousand doctors, firemen, police and military rescuers from 18 courts, plus foreign survivors.
The test will take place in the course of five days and four nights in southeastern Romania.
