Food safety teams in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan have stepped up inspections and sampling of milk, paneer, khoya, sweets, ghee and other food products amid concerns over adulteration and the sale of substandard or unsafe food items.
In view of the upcoming festivals like Rakshabandhan and Janmashtami in Noida, the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department has intensified its campaign against adulterated and substandard food items. During raids conducted at various places in the district, about 300 kg of paneer was found unfit for human consumption. After taking samples, the entire quantity was destroyed.
