- The demonstration began after an alleged sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl, and a man charged in relation to the alleged assault sparked the protest.
- Nearly 300 members of An Garda Síochána were deployed, including more than 125 uniformed gardai, 150 public order unit members, mounted and dog units, with a water cannon first deployed but not activated.
- A Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed as six people were arrested and five males appeared at the Courts of Criminal Justice, with five men remanded on bail and ordered to stay away from Citywest Hotel.
- Political leaders condemned the attacks and vowed a forceful response, with Minister for Justice Jim O'Callaghan saying those involved will be brought to justice, while Mr Breen said `Social media is a weapon`.
