Multiple city police departments across California will be issuing fines in the mail over the coming days, thanks to a new initiative that sees the use of drones to identify the illegal use of fireworks on July 4.

WATSONVILLE, Calif. (KION-TV) - Watsonville Police provided an update on their 4th of July enforcement efforts. The department says nearly 3,000 pounds of fireworks were seized and will be sent to state fire partners for safe disposal.
