DERRY, JUL 29 – The python was described as docile and was safely returned to its owner after being found loose in an apartment bathroom, police said.
- On Monday, a 5-foot python was found inside a woman's bathroom at 83 East Broadway in Derry, police confirmed.
- Derry Police said it is unclear how the snake entered one of the upstairs apartments, after neighbors reported it in the bathroom on Monday.
- The resident called police, and animal control took the snake to a local humane society specializing in exotic animals.
- After recovery, the snake was returned to its owner, with Kevin McCurley noting the snake could compress through tight spaces and hold its breath underwater.
