30 years since the Baloteşti air disaster: The crash of the Tarom plane near Otopeni Airport

Today there are commemorations near Bucharest OTP airport in honour of the deaths of Romania's most serious aircraft disaster. On 31 March 1995, an A310-300 of the Romanian airline TAROM was out of control shortly after take-off and fell into a field. A report on the 30th anniversary of the disaster.

On March 31, 1995, shortly after 9 a.m. local time, the worst aviation disaster in Romania occurred. An Airbus A310-324 aircraft, operated by Tarom, flying on the Bucharest-Brussels route, crashed near the Bucharest International Airport.
