Series brings Enschede fireworks disaster to life in moving images

This month marks the 25th anniversary of the explosion of a fireworks storage facility in the middle of a residential area in Enschede. The drama series ‘De Vuurwerkramp’ focuses on the aftermath of the disaster.

What started as a sunny Saturday in the year 2000 ended in a devastating disaster. On May 13, the largest explosion in the Netherlands since World War II wiped an entire city district off the map. 25 years later, the images of the Enschede Fireworks Disaster are still etched in the minds of many.
