A 25-year-old woman died Saturday, June 21 after falling from a canoe on the Spring River near the Saddler Falls area, according to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office. Crista Allman was canoeing with a friend when the boat reached a section of the river known as “Needles Eye.” Allman fell into the water at that point, officials said. On Monday, shortly before 4 p.m., police were notified of a public order violation in the parking lot of a restaurant in Solkan. Upon arriving at the scene, a citizen warned them that a 27-year-old German woman had jumped into the Soča River. The police officer jumped into the river without hesitation and pulled the girl to the shore, the Nova Gorica Police Department announced today.
