Hungary election polls show opposition Tisza widening lead over Orban's Fidesz

- A poll by Research Centre showed Centre-right Tisza, led by former government insider Peter Magyar, held 56% support among decided voters, while Fidesz fell to 37%, down from 39% three weeks ago.
- Zavecz Research reported that 20% of respondents were undecided in their survey of 1,000 people, while another survey found 26% did not know who to back.
- Both surveys indicated the far-right Our Homeland could be the only other party to pass the 5% threshold required for entry into parliament, with Research Centre at 5% and Zavecz at 4%.
- Veteran nationalist Orban faces the biggest challenge to his rule in 16 years, while Magyar has pledged to curb corruption and unlock European Union funds to anchor Hungary in the EU and NATO.
