  • Prosecutors say Tren De Aragua, a violent transnational criminal organization originating in Venezuela, developed ATM jackpotting to steal millions, with members instructed to send 50% of proceeds to leadership.
  • Investigators found that the suspects installed malware into automated teller machines , enabling them to override limits and steal $72,500 at Liberty Bay Credit Union and $58,200 at Granite State Credit Union.
  • Both suspects are currently held in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody in Stafford County, New Hampshire, charged with conspiracy to commit bank theft carrying up to five years in prison and fines, pending federal court in Boston.
