Kentucky State Police said the suspect is armed and dangerous as agencies search for a man accused of killing two bank employees.
- Two employees were fatally shot Thursday during a bank robbery at the U.S. Bank on Chestnut Street in Berea, Kentucky. Kentucky State Police are actively searching for the suspect who remains at large.
- The suspect, described as around 6 feet 3 inches tall, wore a light-colored hooded sweatshirt, dark gloves, gray pants, and light-colored athletic shoes. Authorities report the individual fled immediately following the gunfire.
- Local and state police, including the FBI, launched a massive search involving helicopters and drones. Nearby Berea College and local schools were placed on lockdown until authorities deemed the campuses safe.
- KSP Trooper Justin Kearney urged the public to contact Kentucky State Police Post 7 with any information. Warning the suspect is "armed and dangerous," Kearney added, "do not approach."
- Describing the victims as "our people," KSP Trooper Scottie Pennington emphasized the community's profound loss. Police urge residents to remain vigilant, keep doors locked, and report any suspicious activity immediately.
