16-year old on moped dead after being struck by car in northeast Las Vegas

A 16-year-old moped rider was killed after colliding with a turning Toyota Scion that failed to yield despite a yellow arrow signal, police said.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- A teen boy on a moped is dead after he was struck by a car that turned in front of him on Sunday night. The crash was reported around 8:13 p.m. on Gowan Road near Pecos Road. According to North Las Vegas police, the driver of a Toyota Scion was traveling westbound on Gowan and made a left turn in front of the oncoming moped, causing the crash.
