16-year-old fatally shot in Belleville: Police

BELLEVILLE, Ill. - A teen has died following a shooting Monday evening, according to police. Officers were called to the 100 block of North 81st St. around 5:30 p.m. in Belleville, Illinois. They located a 16-year-old boy in front of a residence with several gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Detectives and other officials are investigating.
