16 Saskatchewan Horses Test Positive for EIA

On February 7, 16 horses in Meadow Lake No. 588, Saskatchewan, tested positive for equine infectious anemia (EIA). The horses had been tested by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency as part of an ongoing disease investigation, and no clinical signs of disease were noted at the time of sampling. The infected horses have a history of commingling with free-roaming horses in an area where the disease is endemic.
