ZDF confirms Norbert Himmler as Director General

The Council of German public broadcaster ZDF has re-elected Norbert Himmler as Director General, confirming him for a second term at an assembly in Mainz on 13 March 2026. Of the 53 Council members present, 48 voted in favour of Himmler, with three votes against and two abstentions. The required majority was 36 votes, equivalent to three fifths of the statutory members of the 60-seat body. Himmler was the only candidate put forward for the post.…
