YouTube announces expanded suite of tools for creators in latest AI push

YouTube's new AI tools include Ask Studio for analytics, AI-generated voiceovers, and Veo 3 integration in Shorts, aiming to ease creators' workload and boost monetization.

  • On Tuesday, YouTube unveiled a broad set of AI-driven tools for creators at its annual Made On YouTube event.
  • This launch follows Alphabet’s October 2024 commitment to embed AI across its products and addresses earlier creator concerns about AI altering videos without consent.
  • Key features include Ask Studio, an AI creative partner offering personalized video insights, Playables on Live for interactive gaming, and AI tools that generate video backgrounds, highlights, and Shorts with sound.
  • YouTube also introduced expanded A/B testing with up to three variants, a collaboration option for up to five creators per video, and integrated Google’s Veo 3 AI into Shorts and Podcasts to turn text prompts into videos with sound.
  • These tools aim to simplify content creation, foster collaboration, and boost engagement, with YouTube planning gradual global rollouts and ongoing AI feature enhancements.
