"Your Bankbook Was Involved in the Crime": Ishikawa Police Station Announces that a Man Posing as a Police Officer Defrauded a Woman in Northern Okinawa Out of 1 Million Yen

On the 4th, Ishikawa Police announced that a self-employed woman in her 50s living in the northern part of the main island had been defrauded of approximately 1 million yen in cash in a special fraud in which someone pretended to be a police officer. According to the police, on the 3rd, the woman received a call from someone pretending to be an NTT employee, who falsely told her that she had unpaid mobile phone bills.
