Yoplait Yop yogurt drinks recalled in Canada over plastic contamination fears
Yoplait Canada recalled all 200 mL YOP drinkable yogurts with best-before dates from Oct. 21, 2025, to Jan. 12, 2026, due to potential plastic contamination, CFIA said.
- On Saturday, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued a recall notice for Yoplait Canada's 200 millilitre YOP drinkable yogurt due to possible plastic pieces, and the CFIA said there have been no reported injuries.
- Yoplait Canada said it proactively issued the recall after discovering a packaging defect that could allow plastic in yogurts, stressing consumer health as its top priority.
- Affected products include all flavours of 200 millilitre YOP drinkable yogurt distributed nationally, such as blueberry, vanilla, strawberry and mermaid blackberry starfruit, sold in individual bottles and six, 12 or 15 packs.
- Consumers and retailers are being told to check for recalled YOP products, avoid use or sale, and to trash or return items while the Canadian Food Inspection Agency verifies removal.
- The company said only products with best-before dates from Oct. 21, 2025, to Jan. 12, 2026, are affected, some 12- and 15-packs have pack code '03JAN6AY', and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency investigation could expand the recall.
