The highway near The Hague was closed for about 45 minutes. The climate activists were removed from the highway by the police.
The police ended the Extinction Rebellion (XR) demonstration on the Utrechtsebaan in The Hague. Activists were directed to a bus. Those activists who did not want to walk to the bus themselves were carried there by officers, as can be seen on an XR livestream.
Dozens of climate activists from Extinction Rebellion once again blocked access to the A12 in The Hague on Saturday afternoon. The protesters stood on the Boslaan and on various access roads towards the Utrechtsebaan around 2:00 PM. As a result, traffic came to a partial standstill. The demonstration had not been announced to the municipality in advance. Mayor Jan van Zanen immediately ordered the action to end when he was informed of it.
