The Chinese company XPeng has launched mass production of a robotax without LIDAR sensors. The car uses an artificial intelligence system based on cameras, and the company plans to launch a fully unmanned mode by 2027.
XPeng announced on Monday (May 18, 2026) the start of mass production of its line of autonomous taxis – also known as robotaxis.
