Tibetan Activists Protest Xi Jinping’s US Visit Amid Pro-China Confrontations – Tibet
By Tenzin Chokyi DHARAMSALA, 24 Sept: Tibetan activists staged multiple demonstrations in Washington, DC, on Wednesday against Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to the US, with pro-China demonstrators attempting to block Tibetan banners and flags along his motorcade route and confronting protesters outside the US Capitol.
On September 23 local time, Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping and his wife arrived at the Andrews Joint Base near Washington, D.C. Outside, clashes broke out between pro-CCP groups and protesters. Pro-CCP individuals deliberately shouted "Falun Gong is beating people," even though Falun Gong practitioners were not present. Members of the China Democratic Party present at the scene recounted the events.
