In its proposal for a decision on the protected space for the meeting of the World Heritage Committee being held in Paris, it reiterates to the Spanish State that it implements "fast and effective conservation measures" to reverse the decline of the Almonte-Marisma aquifer.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) wants to urge Spain to take urgent measures for the recovery of the Doñana aquifer. The organization warns that if the condition of deterioration of the aquifer is not reversed, "it could create the conditions for the inscription of the good on the List of World Heritage in Danger".
