Workers’ Party’s Andre Low and Eileen Chong to Enter Parliament as Non-Constituency MPs
- Andre Low and Eileen Chong of the Workers' Party will take up two Non-Constituency Member of Parliament seats in Singapore’s 15th Parliament as announced on May 19, 2025.
- The two NCMP seats became available since the Workers' Party won 10 parliamentary seats but the total opposition MPs fell short of the minimum 12 under the Parliamentary Elections Act.
- Mr Low, aged 34, lost Jalan Kayu SMC with 48.53% of the vote while Ms Chong, 33, contested Tampines GRC, which obtained 47.37% in a four-cornered contest led by Faisal Manap.
- The Workers' Party nominated Ms Chong to take the second NCMP seat after internal consultations, and the Elections Department declared both candidates elected as NCMPs.
- With Low and Chong as NCMPs, the Workers' Party will have 12 MPs and pledged to continue representing Singaporeans and holding the government to account in Parliament.
