Race Across the World to Return Next Month
Five pairs will compete over 12,000 km from Europe to Asia for a £20,000 prize on the BBC's toughest Race Across The World route yet, starting April 2.
- BBC Press Office announced yesterday that Race Across The World will return next month and air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 8pm.
- The award‑winning format, launched in 2019, moved from BBC Two to BBC One due to popularity, with producers calling this the 'toughest journey yet' amid sustained audience appeal.
- The route spans more than 12,000km across Europe and Asia, with planned stops in Italy, Greece, Turkey, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and finishing at Lake Khovsgol in northern Mongolia; contestants race without smartphones, bank cards or air travel for a £20,000 prize.
- Producers revealed the new teams by name, including Jo and Kush, Katie and Harrison, Molly and Andrew, Puja and Roshni, and Mark and Margo, while last year's winners were Caroline and Thomas Bridge.
- This 2026 run is the sixth instalment of Race Across the World, narrated by John Hannah and produced by Studio Lambert for the BBC, following a celebrity edition won by Roman Kemp and Harleymoon Kemp.
