Powerball Ticket Sales Begin in the United Kingdom
UK players can enter uncapped jackpots starting at £12 million, with a £4 line price and new fixed prizes of £8 and £1 million.
On Tuesday, Allwyn launched Powerball in the United Kingdom, marking the first time the lottery operates outside the US and allowing players to compete for shared jackpots that can balloon into the billions.
The expansion follows an agreement between Allwyn and the Multi-State Lottery Association, first announced in April, to integrate markets and bolster shared jackpots across both regions.
UK players pay £4 per line to compete for shared jackpots paid over 30 years; unlike US participants, they do not qualify for lower-tier prizes and only contribute to the main jackpot.
The first drawing occurs on Thursday with players eligible to win the currently estimated $416 million jackpot, equivalent to about 311 million pounds, if the prize continues to roll until launch.
Allwyn recently completed a £450 million tech upgrade to the National Lottery platform, reporting total sales of £8.1 billion in 2025, a 3.5% increase from the previous year.
