World-acclaim Hamaguchi returns with a film about the birth of evil

Two years ago, Japanese director Ryûsuke Hamaguchi's film Drive My Car, presented at the Cannes Film Festival, brought him worldwide recognition. The tape was nominated for four Oscars and won an award in the Best International Film category. This year, the filmmaker presented his latest work, “Evil Does Not Exist” (“Aku wa sonzai shinai”), which was awarded the Grand Jury Prize, in the main competition programme of the Venice Film Festival.
