- On Thursday, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission confirmed that DNA from 31-year-old Brittany Clark matched a 13-foot alligator captured after her fatal June 28 attack in Seminole County.
- Clark was swimming in about 3 feet of water with her boyfriend, Chance Allison, and friends near Barr Street Trailhead in the Econlockhatchee River when the alligator grabbed her arm.
- According to the Orange County Medical Examiner's report, the alligator performed a "death roll" and dragged Clark and Allison underwater before briefly releasing her and grabbing her other arm; bite marks on her left arm matched the captured alligator's teeth.
- Following the attack, contracted trappers captured and euthanized two large alligators measuring about 12 feet and 13 feet, with the 13-footer caught "exactly at the incident scene," as FWC continues its active investigation.
- Clark's attack occurred amid a spate of violent incidents between June 21 and July 3 involving an 11-year-old boy who lost his hand and a 71-year-old man, though FWC emphasized serious alligator injuries remain rare in Florida.
