- On April 10, 2025, Latrance Battle, a 52-year-old woman from Florida, disguised herself as a federal immigration officer to abduct her former boyfriend’s spouse at a hotel in Panama City Beach.
- Battle approached the victim at her workplace wearing a black shirt labeled ICE, carrying a radio and sheriff’s business card, and told her she had to leave with her, causing the victim to comply out of fear.
- Battle drove the victim to an apartment complex where the woman grew suspicious and escaped after Battle entered the building, then contacted law enforcement leading to Battle’s arrest en route to Alabama.
- Authorities formally accused Battle of committing felony-level kidnapping, theft by quickly snatching property, unlawfully posing as a law enforcement officer while carrying out a felony, and violating probation terms.
