Woman dies on easyjet flight to Liverpool - Liverpool Echo
- On March 25, easyJet flight EZY3366 from Tenerife to Liverpool was diverted to Santiago-Rosalía de Castro Airport in northern Spain due to a 67-year-old woman requiring urgent medical attention.
- The woman, who was traveling with her husband back from the Canary Islands, collapsed mid-flight and suffered a suspected cardiac arrest.
- Three passengers, including a nurse and a physiotherapist, along with the easyJet staff, attempted to save the woman's life by administering CPR and using an oxygen tank and defibrillator for nearly 50 minutes.
- Despite their efforts, the woman died onboard the plane, prompting one of the passengers who assisted to express their condolences to her husband, saying 'I'm so sorry,' and leading Spanish air traffic controllers to facilitate a continuous descent.
- EasyJet confirmed the incident, stating that 'the well-being of our passengers and crew is always easyJet's highest priority' and that they have remained in contact with the family to offer support and assistance, while passengers were provided with overnight accommodation and a subsequent flight was arranged for March 26.
