Woman Collapses at North Platte Rally Where Vice President Vance Was Stumping for Pete Ricketts
- Vice President Vance led an audience in prayer on Thursday at a North Platte, Nebraska, rally after a woman collapsed on the risers behind him during his speech.
- Vance visited North Platte to campaign for Republican Senator Pete Ricketts and Governor Jim Pillen, who are seeking reelection in 2026 amid an increasingly competitive Senate race.
- Pausing his remarks, the vice president led a prayer while medical staff attended to the woman; about five minutes later, Vance checked on her personally before returning to the podium.
- Emergency personnel removed the woman by ambulance, and Vance later posted to X thanking medical staff and first responders for their "swift" assistance and the crowd for their support.
- The rally comes as Nebraska Senate race predictions shift to "Leans Republican," prompting recent visits from President Donald Trump and other high-level Republicans to boost voter turnout before November.
