Woman charged with trespass after alleged shoplifting in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A shoplifting investigation on St. Clair Street in Chatham resulted in a charge on the evening of Jan. 23. Police were called to a business around 7:02 p.m., where officers determined a 57-year-old woman from Chatham had concealed merchandise and attempted to leave without paying. She was charged with trespass to property. Police issued a formal warning and released her unconditionally.
