Delhi Horror: Woman Allegedly Gang-Raped in Private Bus, Two Arrested
Police said the bus will undergo forensic examination as investigators work to verify the survivor’s account and build the timeline of events.
A 30-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped inside a private bus in Delhi by the driver and conductor; Delhi Police sources confirmed arrests of both suspects on Thursday.
Returning from work, the survivor approached a bus near the B-Block stop in Saraswati Vihar to ask the time when suspects allegedly dragged her inside. The bus kept moving through Rani Bagh covering 7 km.
Police registered an FIR at Rani Bagh police station under sections 64, 70, and 3 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita on May 12. Authorities confirmed the bus has been seized for forensic examination.
Delhi AAP chief Saurabh Bharadwaj condemned the incident, likening it to the 2012 Nirbhaya gangrape-murder case and calling it a "big shame."
Investigators are continuing their probe into the sequence of events to establish evidence, as police sources stated that "the accused have been arrested and further investigation is underway.
